Dr. Tara Zamora, a south Orange County native, is a longtime SC Vet family member. She began her veterinary path as a kennel attendant at SC Vet in 2004. She fell in love with customer care, soon becoming a SC Vet Customer Service Representative. While attending Saddleback College, Dr. Zamora discovered her passion for veterinary nursing and began the process of applying to veterinary schools. She and her dog, Taco, later moved to Hawaii where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. While in her undergrad, she developed a love for environmental sciences and land preservation. After attending the University of Hawaii, she was accepted to the Ross University of Veterinary Medicine on the remote island of Saint Kitts and Nevis (West Indies). She was president of the university club “Green Initiative,” a group dedicated to the improvement of on and off campus recycling, beach cleanups, and community outreach.
In addition to her veterinary degree, Dr. Zamora pursued an integrated master’s program where she performed integral research on the social dimensions of invasive species management; focusing on invasive mongoose and their role in causing the disappearance of native species, such as various sea turtles and nesting sea birds.
She completed her clinical rotations at the Royal Veterinary College (London, UK) where she developed a passion for dermatology, internal medicine, and feline friendly practices. Dr. Zamora has since rejoined her SC Vet family as of October 2018. She is ecstatic to be home working alongside her father, Dr. John Agostini, as they both strive to deliver outstanding patient care and provide a thoughtful work environment for the community.
Dr. Zamora and her husband live happily with their two dogs in downtown San Clemente. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, reading, ocean adventures, and hiking.
